Snappy – Take Pictures In A Snap From Anywhere On The iPhone.

Just how many times have you wanted to capture a moment but fail due to the prolonged process of launching your favourite iPhone Camera App? Hmm..My guess is more than you can count. The native iPhone camera takes about 6 seconds to launch from the home screen..longer if you have to exit an App first.

Well if you’re part of the ones that liberate their iPhones(Jailbreak) to make full use of its potential.. You are once again being presented with some more iPhone functionality Goodness.

A Hot new Camera Application was released today available via Cydia. Its called Snappy (It really lives up to its name)

Snappy is a Camera Application only for Jailbroken iPhones that launches from anywhere on the device and is ready to take pictures in One Second, without even having to exit your currently running App.

How is that possible you wonder? Well Snappy takes home in your Status bar once installed, there’s no icon for it. Simply tap and hold the status bar (where you have your carrier logo,signal/wi-fi bars, battery etc) to launch the camera and you are immediately ready to take pictures. It even works from the lockscreen, once done, tap home button to close Snappy, and continue with your running Application without it being closed.

For those that have SBSettings installed, Snappy has no interference at all, since you have to tap and hold, whilst SBSettings requires you to swipe, and the camera settings can be accessed directly from the App. Whether Snappy constantly runs in the background or not am yet to discover..but will definitely update this post once i’ve given it a good run.

The App functions pretty much like the native camera app interface, with access to your camera roll and some other functionalities you can find in the native camera app, even make use of macro.

Video recording is not yet included, but according to this Tweet by the Developer Marc Vaillant, its in the works.

A must have App, now capturing those moments you used to miss will be a thing of the past. Priced reasonably at $1.99/£1.19, Well worth it.

Heres a Video Demo.
